A 4 day project launched on the 1st day back, the task was to re-create an art or design classic while only using edible ingrediants. We had to consider colour, taste, texture and appereance. Then in our small groups, we had to present the final outcome to the class and let them taste our work. In a group of 5, we had to create Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup Can.
For our given object, We focused on colour, taste and texture that related to the 'pop art' theme rather then just looks. We used materials that were cheap and easily mass produced. Our end product was a set of 24 cans, filled with a split levels of flavoured gelatine, textured with lemonade to give a fizzy taste. The idea was we wanted the viewers to interact with the piece, and by tipping the can, they would be able to identify the idea behind our representation of the Campbell's Soup Can. Below, you will find a range of images shwoing how we achieved our goal, as well as the powerpoint presentation.
